No Post

No post yesterday, that's because a lot of my classes all wanted to reschedule for wednesday this month. With my new class schedule, I have to leave my house by 8:30 am and I don't get back till 10:00 pm. (All Japanese time.)

Now, I don't work that whole time, that day only counts as a nine hour work day. But anytime between classes is spent driving to the next class.

So until I can get a buffer of updates up, you can expect a period were I don't post everyday. Life will just sometimes get in the way.

Updates on the story, Caden is better, and will soon be leaving his house again. I'm also starting a new system for labeling the chapters. Before I gave the chapter and section title. But if a reader happens to miss a post, they might not notice that they skipped a post.

So I'm changing the way I title the posts. Starting with chapter 11, I'm going to start numbering the sections. The section numbers will reset with every new chapter.

Chapter 11-1
Chapter 11-2
Chapter 12-1
etc.

The Dragon Knights: Chapter 9: The Road Home

The Dragon Knights: Chapter 9: The Road Home

New month, new story update. No I didn't finish the revisions, but things are putting me behind schedule and I really wanted to get back to the story.

It's surprising how much you can lose the pace that you have with a story when you take a break from it. I hope it will be motivation to not take a month long hiatus from writing in the future.

It's April, still not sure if I'm going to go for Script Frenzy this year. Might give it a shot, but my schedule is still very tight.

Still missing the last script I wrote. I think it was one of my best, but it's trapped in a busted harddrive along with the first draft of the Dragon Knights. But we've actually moved past where the first draft was, so this is all new grounds for me.

Wish me luck.

If you haven't read everything yet, Start at the Beginning

And Subcribe to the Story to be notified of the latest updates. (Hopefully there will be a lot more this month.

I hate moving

There is nothing worse then moving. Sure, at first it seemed like fun when I was 18 and going away for college.

Didn't mind having to move everything back for summer, then again for the new school year. Didn't mind switching dorms for the next summer. Thought it was great to move to my first apartment for my third year. Each year after that, I moved to a new place, each better then the last. It was great back then.

It was slightly annoying moving out after college. (I didn't want to leave the city.) But it was necessary, so okay.

Then in the past 13 months, I've had to move 6 times... Now I'm being forced to move again. So 7 times in 13 months. Wheee...

And the new place is horrible compared to my current place. I haven't found a single thing about it to actually look forward to.

So if you're wondering where those revisions I promised are? I've been given two days to move all of my crap and a bunch of stuff left by old teachers. Plus I still have to work every day.

Paper

So I've printed out everything I've written so far. And aside from a few formatting issues, Dragon Knights is up to 73 pages. Wow, didn't realize I'd written that much already. Still a long way to go before the end of book one.

Why did I print it out? Because you see more things that need to be changed on paper then you do on a computer screen. And this also allows me to get my wife to edit and critique as well.

What does this mean for you? It means that I will get back to the regular updates sooner.

Wish me luck.

Update - Still Editing

So editing is coming along slower then previously expected. I apologize.

I've been banging my head against the keyboard, but it just doesn't get any faster. :D
(Doesn't help that safari keeps crashing on me while using blogger lately.)

Although I've reformatted the Page Layout. What do you think?

I want to say thanks to Mr. McCulloch from hostingGANG for the advice that helped me tweak the code right.

Editing

The Sunday post never went live like it was supposed to. Sorry about that. It's fixed and available now.

Busy days at work, never let anyone tell you that teaching in Japan is an easy job with hours of free time.

So, with the start of March, I've decided to go through and line edit what I've already written. This is primarily a writing exercise to polish my skill up. So I need to go back once in a while to see how I've been doing.

I will create an archive with original drafts for reference.

Those who are regular readers, I hope you'll stick with me through this process. I'll post here as I complete the different sections, let me know what you think.
